Our Nurses

Hunter Pain Clinic has a team of pain management nurses who are committed to providing education to patients, families and health care providers, including other nurses.

While education is only part of the diverse role pain management nurses have, we have a passion and keen interest in ensuring management of chronic pain patients is based on best practice research and literature.

The nurse’s role in pain management should not be underestimated – no matter what level of involvement this is. It is a challenging and complex role, but above all, very rewarding. We look forward to facilitating your learning about chronic pain management.

We are here to provide support and answer any questions you may have. Please email us at cpd@hunterpainclinic.com.au if you require online support with the learning modules or have any questions.

Now, let us introduce ourselves…

Georgie May

I joined the team at Hunter Pain Clinic in August 2016. Prior to pain management, I worked for 11 years in Anaesthetics / PACU and enjoyed a variety of roles including CNS and CNE. I have also held positions with Tafe NSW, Avondale Collage and SAN Collage of Education providing training, education and support. I have a strong interest in clinical education and the training of nurses.

Rachel Whipp

I came to Hunter Pain Clinic with a background in general practice nursing, intensive care nursing and general surgical nursing. I have previously completed a Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing and am about to embark on a Masters in Nursing Management. Continuing education is an important factor in providing patients and health professionals with evidence based knowledge and delivering safe, effective patient care.

I thoroughly enjoy my role and the challenges that pain management nursing provides me.

Rebecca Kennedy

Training in 1992, I have many years of experience in general hospital nursing working in areas such as Drug & Alcohol/ Toxicology, Stroke / Medical, Surgical, Orthopaedics and Accident & Emergency.

Working in the Pain Management industry has provided me with a wealth of knowledge where there is always something new to learn. I enjoy my role immensely working with a wonderful team to provide a high quality of care in chronic pain management for all of our clients.
